Phil Conrod Joins the Christian Game Developer’s Conference (CGDC) Board of Directors

The Christian Game Developers Conference Board of Directors announced that they welcomed Phil Conrod as a new Board Member for a 2 year term. Phil Conrod has also published over two dozen textbooks which are used in K-12 schools & universities to help teach App & Game programming. Phil Conrod and Kris Murray Host a Unity Workshop on the Unity Multipurpose Avatar (UMA ) and Navigation at the 2019 CGDC.  The Workshop for Unity 3D to create customizable characters and get them to walk around a 3D scene. Learn the Unity Multipurpose Avatar and how to change skin and hair color, body, proportions and clothes. Take that same 3D character and set it to motion on its own using Navmesh. Preparation required: Bring a laptop, download and install Unity, and get the free Unity Assets “Standard Assets” and “UMA 2” from the Unity Asset Store. Participants should have a cursory understanding of C# scripting.

New Unity 3D C# Game Design & Development Tutorial Beta Planned for Fall 2019!

Kidware Software is planning to publish it’s biggest and most ambitious 3D game design and programming tutorial textbook  ever in 2020 for schools!  It will be replacing our older  forms based 2D graphics tutorials,  Programming Games with Visual C#, Visual C# and Java.   In this tutorial textbook named Introduction to Unity 3D  C#: Castle Quest Adventure,  not only will you learn how to make a  3D game, but also how to manage all of the things that go into making a game.  In this new tutorial textbook, you will build a fun 3D Adventure Game using  over 10GB of high quality 3D models, music, animations, and C# source code.  This fun game is a role-playing adventure game that takes the player through the story of a new world where castles of the ancients stand tall, through the eyes of a common town guard.   The first closed beta class is planned for the 2019-2020 school year and a full public release is planned for the 2020-2021 school year.  Click here to follow the development our new tutorial after watching the teaser video below!

3D Unreal Engine RPG Blueprints Game Design & Development Tutorial

 

BibleByte Books & Games is currently working on the 2nd Edition of our 3D Unreal Engine Blueprints Game Design & Development Tutorial.  Our Unreal RPG Blueprints Tutorial is a great way to learn how to build your own RPG Game. It comes with a pre-built stylistic dungeon (containing more than 35 individual assets). It uses highly modular assets which makes creating ​ your own Bible Story RPG an easy task!  We show you how to create a simple RPG Game based on the story of Paul & the Jailor which is found in Acts 16:25 – 40.   It is completely done in Unreal Blueprints, and it includes a lot of the standard features you would expect from a simple Unreal Engine RPG Blueprint template.  To view a sample chapter of our previous Unreal Engine v4  First Edition Tutorial and Template click here.  The tutorial comes with the BibleByte 3D Dungeon Enviornment & 3D Character Models and  Unreal Blueprints that you see in the video above.  The basic Unreal Blueprint RPG Template Features include:

  – Inventory System: Including looting system & different types of items like weapons, armor and items.
  – Character Stats: Set up attributes like strength, agility etc. Includes a XP-system with level ups.
  – Class system: Including a Main Menu / Starting Screen where you can select different classes/characters.
  – Animations: The system comes with a set of medieval animations for sword/shield combat.
  ​​​​- Enemies: Two different enemies (melee & ranged caster). Driven by configurable behavior trees.
